Frequently Asked Questions

Do you ship to the UK or EU?

In 2021, the UK and EU put new online shopping rules into effect requiring businesses collect VAT on their behalf.

Businesses are required to register for and remit the VAT collected to their respective countries for orders that total under 135 GBP or 150 EUR.

As a very small business, we cannot and DO NOT collect taxes or VAT on behalf of the UK or any EU countries.

If you live in the UK or in a country that is part of the EU and would like to purchase one or more of our products, your order must have a total value above the minimum spend requirements listed below. Note that these amounts may change at any time as they are subject to current exchange rates.

  • EU minimum: $165 USD*
  • UK minimum: $170 USD*

Orders bound for the UK/EU are shipped via Canada Post with full tracking and insurance. The full value of the shipment is declared with contents itemized for customs clearance. You are responsible for any and all customs charges, duties, additional fees or any other related charges.

* dollar value is an estimate only and is subject to change based on daily currency exchange rate

All orders shipped to the UK or EU are FINAL SALE–if you refuse the package, it is considered abandoned and we will NOT provide a refund, even if it is returned to us.

Any additional costs or expenses we incur as a result of your returned package will be your responsibility and you will be invoiced for any amounts owing.

Please contact us if you are in the UK or EU and are interested in placing an order. We have to invoice UK and EU orders manually.

Will my keyboard fit?

Check the description of the sleeve or case you’re interested in to see a list of the most common and popular keyboards that will fit.

Due to the sheer number of both retail and custom-made keyboards we can’t design a sleeve that fits one specific model exactly.

If your keyboard isn’t listed or you have specific questions, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help find the right sleeve or case for you.

How do I take care of my Modern Coup carry good(s)?

Waxed canvas is very easy to take care of and doesn’t require any special care outside of normal use. Any wrinkles or creases on the canvas will smooth out with wear.

Do not iron or dry clean your bag, sleeve or case. Any dirt or particles can be brushed off with a cloth or fabric brush such as a lint remover. Spot clean the fabric with a warm, damp cloth only if necessary.

You can also re-wax the fabric using our beeswax rewax blocks to prolong its life and restore the durability of the outer shell.

What does ‘Made to Order’ mean?

When you place an order, your item or items are slotted into the queue of our current production run.

Because each of our products are handcrafted from start to finish, it takes a certain amount of time to cut, sew and put the finishing touches on each individual order. Production time is stated on each item listing.

Once production of your order is complete, it is wrapped and packaged for shipping.

Please note that there is almost always a backlog of orders depending on the season, time of year, special events and of course during any sales periods.

Do you do bulk (wholesale) orders?

As a very small business, we do not take wholesale orders. However, discount pricing may be available for 5+ items.

Please get in touch via our contact form here for more details.

Can you design a bag, case or sleeve according to my requirements?

We do not design according to requested specifications because it is untested, time-consuming and cost-prohibitive to our customers.

Only customizations to our existing designs are available. These include custom colours, personalization and other additional options on the bags.
