Covid 19, Home Learning and Continuing With Design

It’s been a while since I updated the blog and I apologize if you’ve been here and there has been no new posts until now. I hope you are doing well. It’s been at least 2 months since Covid 19 got serious and I think everyone is just trying to get through this.

I closed the online bag shop for about a month and have just re-opened it last week. I wanted to take a short break and also, I got very busy with home learning for my boys. The photo you see there are some books I gave to my older son from my own collection.

We continue to live with uncertainty and within it, we have to find the everyday joys of living a simple life. For me, it’s having a cup of coffee in the afternoon and reading my Monocle Magazine for at least 15 minutes a day.

Here’s a photo of the studio all cleaned up before last Christmas break. I am really liking this space and am grateful everyday to be living/working here.

Other than working on Modern Coup Bags, I started working on Modern Coup Cases about 3 years ago. It’s a collaboration between my husband and I since the cases are more in the tech space, which he is familiar with. That is why I have found little time for the blog, but I’m finding this unacceptable and will post updates much more often

I have been going out to exercise everyday. Kids are not like us. They can’t stay home all day, so this has actually pushed me to be more active. We all got new bikes and I just love riding. It reminds me of the freedom and joys of childhood.

It’s also well into Spring now and the studio is flooded with light. I’m starting to grow some small plants, like this basil. A little green is so uplifting.

This situation seems surreal. I don’t think anyone would have thought such a thing could happen. I hope you and your family are doing as well as can be and making the most out of this. Thanks for coming by. – Cat
