Happy Friday Everyone.
This week, I worked on some new medium size flat pouches (9.75″ x 6″) made out of Belgian linen. This is a fine fabric that is really strong and durable, stronger than cotton. You can say that this is one of the first organic fabrics in history as it is completely natural, spun from the fibres of the flax plant. Linen has been used even before the Middle Ages.
I spent a lot of time sourcing this textile. Belgian linen is thick and has a nice texture. It’s really good for bags and pouches. Heavyweight linen like this is not readily available though. I found an American fabric supplier who imports it from Europe.
It’s available in 4 beautiful colours: charcoal grey, indigo blue, stone blue and light mustard. Take a look at these and other pouches in the shop.
Have a great weekend!
